Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 19, 2026
Dorian Hartwood is the public name and brand used for this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information the site may collect, why it is used, when service providers may process it, and how to request access, correction, or deletion.
Questions and privacy requests may be sent to write@dorianhartwood.com.
INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO PROVIDE
The site may receive information that you submit voluntarily, including:
• your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form;
• your name and email address when you use a subscriber form or follow a newsletter signup link;
• information included in a collaboration, service, or other inquiry; and
• correspondence related to a privacy, access, correction, or deletion request.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the contact or subscriber forms.
INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
The website and its providers may automatically receive limited technical or usage information, such as an IP address, browser or device information, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps, and interactions with the site. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for site operation, security, bot protection, and audience measurement.
The live site currently shows or loads:
• Journo Portfolio, which hosts the website and provides site, contact-form, subscriber-form, and account functionality;
• Clicky, which provides website analytics;
• Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect forms from abuse; and
• Buttondown, which is linked as an external newsletter destination.
Google Analytics is not represented as active because the current audit did not prove that it is configured.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Information may be used to:
• respond to messages, collaboration requests, and service inquiries;
• provide requested newsletters or updates;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
• understand general website usage and content performance;
• prevent spam, fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
• maintain necessary business and audit records; and
• comply with legal obligations or protect legal rights.
The site does not sell personal information. It does not use the contact form to enroll someone in a newsletter without a separate signup or clear request.
SERVICE PROVIDERS AND EXTERNAL DESTINATIONS
Information may be processed by service providers that support the purposes above. Their handling of information is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
The site links to third-party destinations, including Gumroad, Buttondown, Instagram, X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Medium, and TikTok. Following a link means the destination may receive information such as the referring page and may collect information under its own policy. Purchases made through Gumroad are processed by Gumroad or its payment providers; this website does not collect payment-card or bank information.
DORIAN PLATFORM INTEGRATIONS
The site operator may use official developer integrations to manage Dorian-owned social accounts. Those integrations are intended for the operator’s own accounts and may process account identifiers, authorized profile information, media metadata, comments on Dorian-owned media, insights, authorization status, and limited audit records when permitted by the selected platform scopes.
The current website does not invite visitors to connect their own social accounts. If that changes, the policy and consent flow will be updated before the feature is offered.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Cookies or similar technologies may be set by Journo Portfolio, Clicky, Google reCAPTCHA, or linked or embedded services. Browser controls can be used to block or delete cookies, although some site or form features may not function correctly afterward.
DATA RETENTION
Contact and service-inquiry records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary business or security records, and meet legal obligations. Subscriber data may be kept until the person unsubscribes or asks for deletion, subject to provider and legal limitations. OAuth authorization and minimal audit records may be kept while a connection is active and removed or anonymized when no longer needed, subject to security and legal obligations. No fixed retention period is promised where the appropriate period depends on the purpose, provider, or applicable law.
INFORMATION SECURITY
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under the operator’s control. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Passwords, platform tokens, client secrets, recovery codes, and payment details are not requested through this website’s public forms.
YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS
You may:
• avoid submitting optional information;
• unsubscribe using the method provided with a newsletter;
• adjust browser cookie controls; and
• request access, correction, or deletion by emailing write@dorianhartwood.com.
The request may need to be verified before account-specific information is disclosed or changed. Some information may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If the operator learns that personal information from a child under 13 was collected through the site without appropriate authorization, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.
INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
The website and its providers may process information in countries other than the country where a visitor lives. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. Providers may use their own lawful transfer mechanisms where required.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This policy may be updated when website features, providers, or practices change. The effective date will be revised when a material update is published. Continued use after an update means the current published policy applies to later activity.
